Director of Operations
Director of Operations is a new role that will play a key part in the next phase of growth at Bits x Bites. You will further the firm’s mission and strategic goals, while bringing operational excellence, a natural curiosity to learn, and hunger to add value.
You will work closely with the Bits x Bites GPs to run all aspects of operational management at the firm, including pre- and post-investment portfolio company support, financial and accounting, and human resources. The ideal candidate will have a solid track record in a variety of disciplines, including finance, accounting, legal, auditing, and more.
Responsibilities:
Manage financial, accounting, and human resources operations in the best interest of the firm
Support investor relations by creating financial reporting and analyses and providing any logistical support
Execute all necessary steps toward the closing of new investments. These include creating term sheets, transferring funds, and completing any closing documents and regulatory filings as needed
Serve as an extension of portfolio companies by keeping track of their financial and accounting, analyzing alternative models to ensure they are on the right track, and supporting their fundraising efforts
Lead internal financial management at the firm, preparing quarterly and annual reports of company accounting
Run human resources management and any employee benefit and incentive programs
Maintain collaborative relationships with external stakeholders including tax authorities, banks, investment intermediaries, investors and more
Requirements:
10+ years relevant experience at a VC/PE, with a track record supporting the full cycle of VC/PE operations
Deep financial acumen and experience building financial models, financial statements and valuations
Strong understanding of all legal preparations for new investments including term sheets, equity transfers, and more
Exceptional verbal and oral communications abilities with external and internal stakeholders across different levels
Independent strategic thinking to problem solve in a fast-moving environment
Strong drive to learn, attention to detail
High levels of patience, empathy, and respect toward others
Passion for technology innovations
Bachelor’s degree or above in finance, economics, statistics, or accounting
Bilingual in Mandarin and English
Senior Associate
Responsibilities:
Identify quality domestic and international agrifood tech startups for potential investment
Screen, analyze, and present early assessments of pipeline companies
Support due diligence processes including liaising with potential investment startups, gathering and analyzing due diligence materials, writing investment memo, and supporting investment negotiations
Conduct financial modeling and risk assessments to help advance investment decision making
Analyze detailed market landscapes and trends to help the investment team continuously refine investment theses
Support post-investment portfolio management, monitor and analyze team progress and recommend improvements in growth plans, financial and operational management
Build collaborative relationships with corporate partners, investors, and other stakeholders
Represent company in industry conferences, trade shows to expand the firm’s network
Requirements:
3-5 years relevant experience in investment analysis
Working experience at a VC/PE, investment bank or MBB strategic consultancy is preferred
Strong financial acumen and experience conducting market feasibility, financial forecasting and analysis assessments
Exceptional verbal and oral communications abilities with external and internal stakeholders across different levels
Independent strategic thinking to problem solve, systematically analyze and quickly grasp the core business logic
High levels of patience, empathy, and respect toward others
Strong drive to learn and attention to detail in a fast-moving environment
Passion for technology innovations (e.g. AI, Biotechnology)
Bachelor’s degree or above from top universities, science and engineering majors preferred
Skilled in Office software such as PowerPoint and Excel
Bilingual in Mandarin and English
Analyst
Responsibilities:

Analyst Intern
Responsibilities:
Conduct agrifood industry and technology research to support the investment team
Gather and analyze market data, present findings and insights in a professional manner
Analyze pipeline startups, present recommendations for team evaluation
Prepare materials for pre-investment discussions and investment memos
Requirements:
Third-year undergraduate or Master student
Excellent communication skills
Work experience at a consultancy, investment bank or private equity preferred
Attention to detail in a fast-moving environment
Skilled in Office software such as PowerPoint and Excel
Bilingual in Mandarin and English
Available at least 3 days a week
Communication Intern
Responsibilities:
Write articles including company news and investment trends
Translate Chinese and English materials
Organize events including closed-door workshops and industry conferences
Identify speaking opportunities of top industry events in China and globally, as well as media channels, to expand company awareness
Support industry and technology research
Manage social media platforms, including updating official website, Wechat, Toutiao, Jiemian
Requirements:
Third-year undergraduate or Master student in journalism, business, marketing, food & agriculture-related fields
Work experience in social media, traditional media or PR preferred
Available at least 3 days a week
Exceptional verbal and written abilities in Mandarin and English
Skilled in Keynote, Photoshop and Illustrator preferred
